When was Finney County, KS Created?
Finney County was established on February 22, 1883 from the now extinct Arapahoe County, Grant County, Kearny County and the now extinct Sequoyah County. The county was named in honor of David W. Finney (1839-1916), tenth lieutenant governor of Kansas.
