When was Stewart County, GA Created?
Stewart County was established on December 23, 1830 from Randolph County (Portions of Stewart County were used to create Quitman County in 1858 ). The county was named in honor of General Daniel Stewart (1759 - 1829), a hero of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
